    Hafner's Extension?

The Indians and Travis Hafner have resumed negotations on a contract extension beyond the 2008 season.
Hafner will make $4.75 million next year after his option is picked up. He'll then be a free agent for the first time. Talks with the Indians initially began during spring training, but with no agreement in sight, they broke off during April. "The conversations have always been positive," agent Scott Parker said. "But if you're asking me for a prediction, I don't have one." Hafner and C.C. Sabathia, also a free agent after 2008, both happen to be represented by Parker. Sabathia likely will be a tougher sign, and there haven't been any negotations recently.
I say sign them both! Those two along with Sizemore is a good core to build around. Martinez can go as you have Shoppach. Might not have the power but is damn good.

    Definitely sign them all
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

If Hafner bolts for free agency, big market teams will make it rain on him.

Great Guy To Have For Your Team, Just Seems Like A Lot Of Money For A Dh. But Good For Cleveland.

Look for Hafner to have a big second half though. He historically has good second halves.

Clevelnad needs him in the line-up as well!!

Well, he is FINALLY starting to come out of his slump.

Now we need to resign Sabathia. But I won't sweat it if we don't...we have talent in the minors that can come up not to mention Carmona will step in and be the ace of this staff.

But hey, we have another season with Sabathia. If we come close to the Series this year, he might sign with Cleveland for less if he can get a ring...though I see him signing with the YankMe's if he gets to FA.

Won't sweat it if they don't? He is most likely going to be the Cy Young winner. That's a huge loss for a team with not a lot else.
