    spinning womack?

i've seen a rumor a few places that has womack going to the rays for RHP minor leaguer stephen andrade. He'll be 27 and has spent 5 years in the minors, which sounds bad, but look at his numbers across all levels:

    Minor League Totals: 2.15 ERA 0.94 WHIP 222.1 IP 34 Saves 5.42 h/9 0.45 hr/9 3.00 bb/9 13.20 k/9

There must be something wrong with him, but more than 13 k/9 and he never gives up homers, seems like he might be worth the gamble. Womack isn't exactly what i'd call an essential part of our team.

Howard and that other guy plus 1 mil would be worth it and then some if this guy was for real.

I would do it in a heart beat. This would be something nice for a change.

The Devil Rays? I thought they shipped him to San Diego?

Anyway, Andrade is an odd case because I've known about his minor league dominance for awhile but he has never gotten a MLB chance to proven himself. Is his stuff that unimpressive or what? Weird stuff. But for Womack, I'd send them three coney's from Skyline and a bag of balls if needed to sweeten the deal.Anything so we don't have a washed out vet with a an abysmal OBP and SLG% competiting for a job in spring training.

yea the Padres got Andrade at the 3rd pick in the Rule 5 draft. that pick completed the Dewon Brazelton-Sean Burroughs trade.
