Rosenthal says Griffey's either coming back this weekend or not at all.

Ken Griffey Jr. - OF - Reds

According to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, Ken Griffey Jr. will either return this weekend or undergo season-ending knee surgery.

That doesn't make a lot of sense, as the knee surgery is something that can easily wait until the offseason. However, it appears that the Reds don't see any need to bring Griffey back as a pinch-hitter. According to the report, either his foot will allow him to play regularly or he will be shut down. Per RotoWorld. I wanna see him come back, but not if he's risking further injury.

No point in risking him, we are out of it and we need him back 100% get it now and get to rehab. Dont be like Bonds and wait til Feb to start, that way if theres any bumps in the road then you have time to get past them and get back healthy for ST.

He was having an interview talking about that. When he hurt his Patella Tendon the doc said that his knee needed some cleaning up that he put off for 3 yrs. Junior said its just a 20 minute deal and he will be out that day and walking the following day.

I'm not sure he's going to play anymore this year.

It looks like the source that was published in the DDN at the time of the injury saw that it was one that might be severe enough that would prevent him from playing anymore this year.

Homer: We're proud of you, boy.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.
