Bewn Weber accepts outright assignment to AAA

CINCINNATI (AP) — Reliever Ben Weber accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Louisville on Monday, effectively ending his season with the Cincinnati Reds.
The Reds signed Weber as a free agent over the offseason, paying him $600,000 on a one-year deal. Weber appeared in only 10 games and had an 8.03 earned run average when he went on the disabled list May 9 with a bulging disc in his neck. He never returned.
The Reds designated him for assignment last Tuesday. Louisville’s season is over, so Weber won’t pitch again this season.

If you don't mind me asking...why? Weber is old and he's terrible.

I guess he realizes that a job elsewhere isn't likely.

He realizes he sucked. What the Reds do now is up to them. I just wish there were a few more guys on this team willing to admit they sucked at one point or another *glares at Aurilia while he was hitting .190 and said he wasnt happy with playing time*.

"Oh, don't mind me, I'm rebuilding now" then you win at least 80 games
