Will a deal be made today?

The clock is ticking and all news sources seem to indicate that O'Brien will do what he is known for, nothing.

Griffey's not in the lineup. Even though they said nothing is happening, it has to raise some suspense, even if it's just a little.

Showing how exciting this trade deadline is, I was watching the HoF Speeches.

Gammons was extremely good though, got to me. I'd love to get a transcript of that, since he had a segment in there I'd love to put as my yearbook insert.

No shit, with the only trade involving Geoff Blum, you know something's wrong.

Gotta love Kruk. Did you know only 4 2B can do damage offensively? (Utley, Roberts, Soriano, and Kent I think). Robinson Cano, Ryan Freel, Craig Biggio, Marcus Giles, and Mark Loretta can't do anything.

Personally, I'd say Giles before Utley 99 out of 100 days, too. And probably Loretta over Roberts, too, despite Roberts' amazing April.

How about our own beloved 2B Rich Aurilia? The first one to hit an upper deck HR in Petco today.

That was definitely a good shot.

Has anyone heard why Griffey is not in the lineup today? He has hit .419 with 5 HR against Williams.

they're probably worried that he tweaked something sliding into home or something...he did a lot of running yesterday IIRC he went from first to third on a single hit to LF.

"Oh, don't mind me, I'm rebuilding now" then you win at least 80 games
