Reds Trade Ryan Hanigan to Tampa...

In exchange they received David Holmberg as part of a 3 team deal.

    The break down is:
    Reds get: Holmberg
Tampa get: Hanigan (with 3 year deal), Heath Bell from Arizona, and cash.
Arizona get: PTBNL and a reliever named Chaote from Tampa.

Scouting report on David Holmberg | Cincinnati Reds

There's a scouting report on Holmberg. He projects to be a Mid to bottom of the rotation starter. For Hanigan? Nice Job Walt.

I liked Hanigan but I think his time had run his course, loved his story but we need to see what Mesoraco can do as the unquestioned #1 and without being yanked around like he's been.

I fully expect Hanigan to bounceback next year. He calls a great game and can get on-base at a good clip. However, this was a good trade and I'm glad the Reds are giving Mesoraco the chance. With Arroyo leaving, the need for Hanigan also went down.
