Slim Chance for the A's to acquire Dunn or Kearns

Although Oakland has been mentioned as a potential destination for Dunn, the Reds are seeking a package that includes at least a No. 3 major-league starter for the slugger -- and the A's are not going to part with Dan Haren. According to a person familiar with Cincinnati's thinking, the Reds would be unlikely to part with Dunn or even outfielder Austin Kearns for Joe Blanton, which means the Reds wouldn't do it for Juan Cruz or Joe Kennedy in a package, either.

Kearns might be a more reasonable target -- he's a right-handed hitter, unlike Dunn; Kearns is making less; and he should command less in return. He doesn't walk as much as Dunn, though, and he's strikeout and injury prone, plus the A's don't have a real spot for another outfielder.

Kearns would be a awesome fit for the Dodgers... I think the Dodgers should just go after Kearns instead of Dunn.

LA doesn't have much to give, especially when they're asking for 2 spects and 2 MLB players

I am sure they can give 2 prospects off there Double-A team. We are full of studs there. And we can give up Werth.

while it would be good to get a right-handed bat, I wouldn't want to give up the farm for either of these guys.

I wouldn't want to give up Adam Dunn either.

And ghetto, the Dodgers have some nifty players in their farm system.

Billingsley would be nice in a Reds uniform. Billingsley and Greg Miller.

I'd rather they take Pena. Catches like the one Austin made in RF last night are the reason I feel that way.
