Time for an old fashioned game thread:7/25 Reds at LA

Cincinnati (42-56) at LA Dodgers (44-54), 10:10 pm EDT

    [VS]

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Derek Lowe looks for consecutive wins for the first time in over two months when the Los Angeles Dodgers open a four-game series against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday.

Lowe (6-10, 4.04 ERA) snapped a personal five-game losing streak last Wednesday by tossing seven strong innings against Philadelphia. He yielded just two unearned runs and won for the first time since June 6 against Detroit.

Despite going 5-5 at Dodger Stadium this year, Lowe has posted a 4.71 ERA in 10 home starts. The righthander is 0-1 lifetime against the Reds.

The Dodgers went 3-3 on their trip to Philadelphia and New York and picked up three games on first-place San Diego, which was 0-6 against the same teams.

After dropping six straight decisions from June 4-July 7, Aaron Harang (6-8, 3.88) has won his last two starts for the Reds. The righthander recorded his first complete game of the season in Cincinnati's 9-3 win against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday.

Harang is 1-1 with a 4.97 ERA in two career starts against the Dodgers.

Adam Dunn's homer in the ninth inning lifted the Reds to a 3-2 triumph over Milwaukee on Sunday. It was Cincinnati's fourth win in its last five games.

    No line-ups yet?

Too bad we're not in the West, because if we were, we would be contending right now.

If we were in the West, our record would probably be better than it is right now because we wouldn't have to play the damn Cardinals or Astros.

Ugh, back to this crap. Freel is sitting again and Dunn is hitting 2nd. Meanwhile, Casey is still 3rd.

Look at the bright side: Aurillia isn't hitting 5th.

That's not the bright side, because it means Aurilia is playing. That's never good.

    Freel should be benched.

He hasn't really hit since being activated and is playing TERRIBLE defense.

Yeah, he's only hit .375 since coming back. The dude sucks ass. And he played some shaky defense at 3B with a couple of throwing errors, even though he'd be playing 2B today.

Sure, Aurilia's been very nice since the ASB, but last time I checked he doesn't lead off, can't steal bases, and I hate him.

f'lo is batting .338 in the leadoff spot, .333 against RHP. he's the next best option to have in leadoff.

Wow, our lineup sucks. Before this season, I didn't think I'd ever see Saenz and Ledee bat 4-5 in a lineup.
