Now if they would have done that then traded Ondrusek for Victorino... But he's gone so now what

The Reds need a lead off hitter, so they go out and get a...right handed setup man.

Depends on what they gave up, I guess.

Donnie Joseph and J.C. Sulbaran for Broxton.

I retract my statement of it being a bad deal.

(Bray went on the DL again, too.)

With Bray to the DL, I am happy with this move. I am less happy that the Reds did not fix their other, more pressing problems.

I like this. I have about zero faith in ondrusek and Marshall as the set up guys. Hopefully broxton can come in a solidify that spot.

Also gives Chapman a chance at starting next season if Broxton does well.

I've heard both ways. That the Reds COULD resign Madsen to an incentive laden deal (think Guardado a few years ago), theres also those who think its just not feasible as even coming off Tommy John Madsen could be the best closer on the market and someone could role the dice and throw big cash out there.

I personally actually like this move, it gives us someone who has "experience" as a closer should Chapman be needed elsewhere or need a day off. Like others have said you can never have too much pitching. I just wish this would have coincided with a move for Overbay and Victorino.
