    Indians wanted Randa for Sabathia

The Indians continue to be rebuffed by the Cincinnati Reds in their attempts to land 3B Joe Randa, says the Akron Beacon Journal. The Cleveland Plain Dealer said the Indians offered P C.C. Sabathia to the Reds.

...Wait, wait, wait. Lemme get this straight...

The Indians turned down Dunn for Sabathia, then offered Sabathia for Randa? I swear to God if this is true and the Reds didn't jump the hell on it, I'll kill somebody. Sabathia is young, talented, a lefty, and he throws gas. What do the Reds expect?

If that's the case, I don't get the Indians. It would be a great trade for the Reds. Getting an ace, and lose pretty much nothing. Well, Randa is decent, but he's not in the future plan, correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh man! I really hope this is not just a rumor. Then again, I don't think that DanO could be stupid enough to pass up this offer. It could be a money thing though. CC is not cheap. DanO could have figured if they traded Dunn to the Indians then they would not have to pay him 15 million next season and could afford CC then. Don't let something like this stop you DanO.

Randa is our best all around player this year IMO. But, he is definitely not in our future plans with EdE waiting in the wings.

Randa's been better than everyone on the team except for Griffey, but he's 35. The Reds have Randa's replacement and a noticeable lack of quality pitchers. Sabathia would give the Reds a very nice 1-2-3 punch in him, Harang, and Claussen. Milton's been decent lately, and they do a decent job scrounging wins when Ortiz pitches, at least.

first off, randa has not been as good as FeLo or Dunn, but he has been very good.

Also, I heard that the Akron Beacon Journal said this rumor was bogus, i'll try to find the article.

Folks don't believe everything you read especially in this day and age. This doesn't make sense. I tend to agree with the above. It was bogus. Let's move on

The Indians aren't going to trade Sabathia for Randa. Not happening.
