Janish easily steals 2B. Reds looking VERY aggressive early this year.

Cairo smacks one to 3B which the Astros boot for a third error. 1st and 2nd, 1 out.

Stubbs does indeed with the single. 7-4 Reds. 1st and 3rd, 1 out, as Cairo scoots right around the bases.

Phillips also singles into right-center...Stubbs again makes the move to 3B. 8-4 Reds...1st and 3rd, 1 out.

"That's what we do in Cincinnati." Indeed.

Right now, this is a good example of a strong team. Unlike past years where some injuries or some slow starts would kill any momentum from developing, this team is stepping up in areas it can to compensate for any losses.

Is it me or did the Reds' offense approach and subsequent results change almost immediately upon the acquisition of Rolen? I know his impact has been brought up many times already but really...wow.

Yeah, I think both him and Edmonds (with Bruce), has been really big moves and boosters for other players.

I think its a result of better overall quality in the lineup. Remember the days when Michael Tucker, Alex Ochoa, etc would be in our opening day lineups because of lack of depth/injuries? I don't think any of them would be on this team right now. You don't have the big gaping black holes like we use to.

Reds are leading by six in the 8th and Phillips is off and running to beat it out for a basehit. Nice.
