Reds Reds advance to the playoffs for the first time since 1995!

Way to go boys! This has been a great season and to cap it off, they get to the playoffs in dramatic fashion with a Jay Bruce walk-off homer, the 22nd walk-off win for the Reds, and behind a solid performance from Volquez. What a fitting way to clinch the NL Central.

I have my game one tickets and can't wait! It's been 15 years since I've been to a playoff game in Cincy.

I got goosebumps when I saw Jay Bruce hit that walkoff. Great win and great season for the Reds. I always love to see Dusty Baker do well too.

Congratulations to the Reds and it is nice to see another team other then the Cardinals represent the NL Central.

Finally I can root for the NL Central in the playoffs. Obviously I HATE the Cards.

I thought the words Reds and magic number sounded weird in the same sentence, but its even weirder when you listen to Marty's call from last night.

"And the 2010 Central Division Championship belongs to the Cincinnati Reds!"

How weird is it that both the Reds and the Bengals are decent at the same time.

So you're saying the 163rd game of the 1999 Reds season doesn't count as a playoff game? Like how some Giants and Padres fans like to say they made the playoffs respectively in 1998 and 2007?

I have never met a Giants fan that has said that. Most Giants fans want to forget that game even happened.

Definitely not, but the Reds PR machine rode that one for awhile.

Wayne Krivsky and Dan O'Brien deserve a slice of the glory for this, but only narrow slivers. Each added a few key pieces to this team but neither did what it took to build a playoff team in the overall scheme. O'Brien in particular. Krivsky simply didn't have the intangibles to build a well-oiled roster, a task for which Jocketty is a crafty vet.

Unfortunately, should the Reds face the Phillies in the first round, they could have a rough time. Jocketty has them on the way but I'm not sure the rotation is up to snuff...yet.

Homer: We're proud of you, boy.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.
