Volquez to the pen to work on mechanics

CINCINNATI -- Edinson Volquez has lost his spot in the Cincinnati Reds' rotation.

The right-hander was moved to the bullpen Saturday, giving him a chance to try to fix problems in his delivery. He retired only two batters in his last start, an 11-2 loss in San Francisco on Monday.

With Harang nearly back, this makes sense. Its obvious he needs more regular work to iron things out and hopefully he gets that work in blowout games.

Leake DL, Volquez to the pen, Homer Bailey's last outing looking like Homer Bailey.. the wealth of starting pitching begins to have shades of doubt.

Bailey had one bad inning his last outing. He looked very sharp early on in that game.

Yes, I am really not too concerned about Bailey, at this point. He's keeping the hits and walks down for the most part and is beginning to show flashes of putting it together. I might not pitch him in a super important game, but he is getting there.
