Statement from Dan O'Brien and Dave Miley about Freel

    Statement From Ryan Freel

"I apologize for the embarrassment I have caused my family, teammates, the Reds organization, Reds fans and the City of Cincinnati. As Major League Baseball players, we are role models for young fans and should be aware of our behavior both on and off the field. I intend to handle this matter in an upright and honest fashion and will do everything in my power to assure that I never again find myself in this situation."

Still not pleased with Freel, especially after the "Bubba Incident", but this is certainly a start.

that I never again find myself in this situation
find himself? Did he wake up drunk driving? lame...he shot down everything else in his statement with that statement of not taking responsibility for what he did...imagine if someone murdered a person and said that?

"Your honor, family and friends of the victim, and to the public, I did not mean to kill this person and I hope I never find myself in that situation again"

    lame

    I agree. That's pretty lame.
The Simpson family gathers around, as Homer places Bart's passed test on the fridge.)

Homer: We're proud of you, boy.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.

I think that statement was definitely written for him and it wasn't from his own thoughts. But I do hope he never gets into another situation like this.

you mean you hope he doesn't "find" himself in that kind of situation, don't you? whoever wrote it took out the part about him taking responsibility for the situation
