Embarassed 4/22: Dodgers vs Reds - Mike Leake's third start

    Martin C
    Padilla SP

    Reds

    Votto 1B
    Phillips 2B
    Rolen 3B

At least Dickerson is leading off. Although his K to BB is pretty lousy, I think a lot of that has to do with the inconsistent playing time he has gotten now for two seasons.

Ouch. Not a good start for the Leakster. Two-run bomb from Ethier. Fully expecting V-Pad to give that lead back though.

Dickerson barely grabbed that one, could have been nasty if he didn't.

Pathetic. Do our pitchers not practice their throws to first base?

Remember Detroit in the world series against St. Louis? They took a page from their book.

Only 1 walk for the Leake, but he gave up a home run to Garret Anderson!? Hah.

Big comeback for the Reds, rallying in the 6th and 7th innings against Kuo and Belisario. Who could have imagined it.

Re: 4/22: Dodgers vs Reds - Mike Leake's third start

The bats are finally alive! Keep it up Reds.

I still have a major heartache with Brandon Phillips though. Scott Rolen is simply a better AB each and every time up. Yet, I am very impressed with Cabrera. He has been a pleasant surprise. And moving him out of the 2 hole so that BP could hit there may be a mistake as well. So where does the gold glover fit? At second base. Other than that, he should probably hit 6th behind Rolen 4th and Bruce 5th.

Is it time to start taking Hanigan seriously? The dude was raking in the first half last season. And now he is one of the very best hitters on this team. I say give him more playing time. Dusty should throw this same lineup up there tomorrow (unless Dusty wants to move Phillips like everyone knows he should). Oh, and Stubbs didn't strike out at all tonight and he also did not bat in the leadoff position. A first for both feats this season for him. Congratulations to Rhodes for being one of the only arm that seems to work in this bullpen this season so far. Big ups to him.

Anyhow, good win for the Reds!

    MVP: Hanigan
