Here's hoping Cueto rebounds and finishes strong to end his sophomore effort.
The Cincinnati Reds are reinstating pitcher Johnny Cueto from the 15-day disabled list so that he can start the second game of a Monday doubleheader with the Pirates.
The move is expected to officially go through in between games, at which time a corresponding move will also be announced.
Cueto hit the DL on August 20, retroactive to August 16, with right shoulder inflammation. He last pitched on August 15 and was tagged for eight hits and seven runs over 2 2/3 innings in an eventual 10-6 loss to Washington.
The right-hander has gone 8-10 with a 4.61 earned run average in 24 starts this season for Cincinnati.
