News Ed E to the DL, Rosales called up

Edwin has been sent to the DL with a chip fracture in his wrist. This injury has been nagging him from the spring and his swing has both looked funky and produced funky results. Rosales, who is expected to get a good look now that Encarnacion is on the DL, was hitting .431 in AAA with a +1.200 OPS. Is Rosales the real deal or someone a bit too old for the level he is at and capitalizing on the talent there (AAAA)? At 25, it is time for Rosales to show if he is the real deal or not.

Supposedly Rosales will make the game tonight but I don't know if he will be starting or not. What I do know is that if he hits, Cincinnati will love his attitude (players in spring training calle him "Petey" Rosales.)

Edwin desperately needed some time off. He hasn't been worth a damn all season and has held the offense back. Let's see if Rosales can change that.

Is this a legit injury? Or one of those Chien Ming Wang type of injuries that they come up with to explain his suckage and give him time off?

There was brief mention of it during ST, but many in Reds country are trying to figure out the same thing. Edwin though has been a pretty good bat through out his career so I think there is some legitimacy to it, although the mental timeout will likely have a greater impact that the physical one.

Hopefully while EEs on the DL the Front Office leans on Duhhhsty to play Rosales and see what he's got.
