Sure Kearns didn't take advantage of his opportunity with Pena out, but many are WAY understating his talent. Keep in mind that he was recovering from a couple of injuries over the last couple of years before this year. I blame him for coming in out of shape this year, but I really think some don't know/don't remember how good he was a few years ago and how good he was/is supposed to be.

I'm not giving up on him yet.

Im not giving up on him. But I just dont think hes going to do it in a Reds uni at this point. He probably needs to be moved right now.

Marty is reporting that Austin did not ask for a trade, just asked if there was interest in him with other teams. Gotta Love the media .

O'Brien is twisting things now, but it's a bit too late for him. Kearns asked for a trade while not specifically stating: "I want traded right now". He said he doesn't like the four outfielders situation and that he wants to play in every game. O'Brien is the Spin Doctor ever. He really should go into politics. I heard Kearns talking about these issues myself, and it was pretty clear what he was saying.

Trade Casey situation cleared up. Dunn at 1b and the outfield of Kearns, Griffey, and Pena.

Who's gonna take Casey's inconsistent bat and consistently overpay him because of his huge contract? The Yankees?

Marty and Hal stated things pretty clearly during Saturday's game. Austin would love to play for the Reds if they clear up the OF situation. If they don't then he wants a new team. So it's the crowded OF situation he detests...not the Reds

He doesn't detest the team, but he doesn't like the fact we've been in "four outfield mode" for the last several years.

Yeah and I don't like the numbers he's put up the last several years either

My point is if the OF situation was alleviated I think his attitude on coming back here would be different

Just don't forget that part of his struggles have been related to trying to recover from injuries. The same goes for Casey in a few of the past seasons. It just takes a while.
