Thread: Verne Ruhle

    Vern Ruhle

With all that was written on these changes I have yet to see the question I want to see asked. Please let me know if this was covered in some paper. If not then our sportswriters are once again letting us down:

Will Vern Ruhle teach the pitch to contact philosophy?

Is he also an advocate of it? If he is then why change pitching coaches? This subject needs to be addressed in detail because all we're left with is "we need a change and these guys are solid baseball people." We've got a bunch of lambs working in the sports media in this town.

I doubt Ruhle has had a chance to even discuss "pitch to contact" extensively with O'Brien.

It's a simple question. Someone stick a microphone in his face and ask: " Are you an advocate of the pitch to contact philosophy?"

I imagine he'll be an advocate if O'Brien forces him into being one.

Agreed, that nice little "pitch to contact" did come from Obie. I think he even taught our guys how to avoid whiplash as they are turning their necks and watching balls rocket out of the park

I imagine he did teach him that neck/head-turning thing.

If you want to avoid saying things you don't want to say to O'Brien based on his decision, you have to learn to turn the other cheek.
