Luis Lopez to the DL; Bergolla called up

The Reds today placed on the 15-day disabled list IF Luis Lopez and recalled from Class AAA Louisville IF William Bergolla (pronounced burr-GOYA).

Lopez left yesterday’s 11-8 victory vs Atlanta with a torn right hamstring. For the Reds he appeared in 17 games, including 4 starts.

Bergolla is in his second stint with the Reds this season. From 5/9-5/28 he appeared in 15 games, including 6 starts. Overall at Louisville he appeared in 38g (.333, 2hr, 17rbi, 4sb).

good........I see Bergolla as a younger version of Lopez, so why not bring him up. Whats the risk anyways.....28th worst team v. 27 worst team, lets take our chances.

Grande said Luis Lopez will be having that surgery on the hamstring both Griffey and Romano had last offseason.

As for Kearns, I imagine why he wasn't called up was because it would just create the same problems we had before, the 4 OF situation. Besides, Dan O has him on some sort of secret plan down there to work on things he didn't reveal; got to love the cloak and dagger stuff with that guy.
