    Contract Reds re-sign Lincoln

The Cincinnati Reds signed right-handed free agent Mike Lincoln to a two-year, $4-million deal accoding to contract information obtained by The Denver Post.
Lincoln went 2-5 with a 4.48 ERA in 64 games last season. He will make $1.5 million in 2009 and $2.5 million in 2010. He also has financial incentives for games started and games finished.

I would have rather signed him to a one year deal, but the money isnt so bad in my opinion considering how well he pitched last season. I think our bullpen needs this kind of lift.

Does Jocketty realize he doesn't have Dave Duncan to perform miracles anymore?

I think Lincoln more than proved he was a good candidatefor comeback player of the year for the Reds.

Lincoln is not going to make or break this team from a role stand point or money. So if he comes back and has a year like the middle of the year great, if he turns into the struggler you keep him around for mopup duty. 2 mil (average) per isnt going to bankrupt this team. Im more worried that theyre going to sign someone like Burrell who wont live up to the contract and be an albatross.

"Oh, don't mind me, I'm rebuilding now" then you win at least 80 games
