Jocketty won't do that trade. He isn't stupid. I actually, wish he was back in St. Louis. I haven't seen much to impress me from John Mo.

I don't doubt Dunn's importance to the team, my question was only due to his being a rental player, and hearing all the stories about how he doesn't really love baseball or whatever. I obviously have no way of knowing the truth about those stories, but like I said, I heard Dunn would be cheaper than that, and apparently I was wrong. Oh well.

LJ, I think it's just a common misconception many make (GMs included) that Dunn should come cheap. But he is our biggest offensive weapon and it wouldn't be easy to just get rid of him for nothing. Rent-a-player or not. He still holds a mass quantity of value.

Doesn't Dunn have a team option for 2009 for about 12Mil?

    No team option.

The Reds either need to resign him or offer him arbitration.

Today was a mini-victory for Dunn fans though.

Gotcha. I mean, like I said, I like him. I'm actually a big supporter(people don't realize his high walk total and high OBP). I only asked because the media outlets here said he'd be cheap. Obviously they were wrong.

I'll take the mini victory but we are still not out of the woods. As you already know, Dunn would likely clear waivers. 1 more month of worry. It would be nice if Jocketty calmed our nerves and offered him a LTC.
