Oh I'm sorry I didn't know he went out there and put up 6 ERAs instead of Eric Milton and the rest of the trash we had in his early years. I guess it's his fault that the team era during most of those years were among the worst (if not the worst) in baseball.

Who else do the Reds have right now? Dunn's the most productive hitter on this team period end of discussion. Is there guys that could with time maybe out produce him (Votto, Bruce)? Possibly. But at this point Dunn is a LARGE part of this offense. 40/100/100bb/100runs doesnt exactly grow on trees.

C.C. is also looking for MORE money than Dunn. Talk is Dunn could be looking at anything from 8 to 17 mil range open market. CC is looking for the 20-25 mil range if they were going to get comparable money you could make the argument. Yes you can never have too much pitching BUT you can also have too much money tied into pitching. Yes If we got CC we would have arguably the best rotation in the majors top to bottom. But where are we going to get ANY offense from tieing up a combined 45ish mil in 3 pitchers when our total payroll has been in the 60 milish range or what about depth in case one of our starters gets hurt?

No thank you. If thats the option I'd rather have Junior back. He's at least been on the field more without getting hurt.

If you guys were to trade Dunn to a contender that would put you in good shape to land a guy like Manny that could come into the weak FA pool, and that'd be a force to be reckoned with, not saying Cincy would be his #1 spot to go to but you never know. Boston wasn't #1 at the time last time for him.

Agreed Alou is hurt too frequently, but when he's healthy, he's been awesome. He hit .340 last year over 95 games. Yeah, it's not many, but it's still .340. He even had a 30 game hitting streak. If you could sign him cheap, I'd take a chance on him...

    Huston Street?

    George Sherrill?

Scouts from the St. Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers, the two most aggressive suitors for Orioles closer George Sherrill, attended last night's game. The Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, Florida Marlins and Detroit Tigers were also among the teams represented.

    Rockies interested in Arroyo?

, the Rockies are interested in starting pitcher Bronson Arroyo. Rooney says the Reds might be willing to pick up some of the $22.5MM owed to Arroyo for 2009-10.
Arroyo spoke out yesterday, saying he'd be disappointed if traded. If Walt Jocketty moves him, it won't be just a salary dump. The Yankees are said to be another possible suitor.

    Reds Looking at Rangers catchers:

The Cincinnati Reds had a scout at the Texas-Oakland game on Saturday in order to take a look at catchers Gerald Laird and Jarrod Saltalamacchia.

The Rangers are apparently willing to part with one of the two, and the Reds are looking to add a catcher since none of their three catchers are under contract for next season, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

I'm going to be disappointed if we don't at least get Weathers and maybe Affeldt to a contender. If they arent in the long term plans theres no point for them to stay here, let both and Griffey go somewhere to compete for titles.

If Manny does go to the Marlins and what I am hearing that Bay will not go to Sox in the three team deal. Perhaps this leaves an opening for Dunn to go to the Sox?

Also, some are reporting that the Rays have interest.
