    Reds Arroyo hurt?

Baker says so. Arroyo denied it though.

Man I just wish he would go back to Boston now. Thanks for the times we had Bronson, but your time in Cincy is through. This sucks too. Imagine if we had the 2006 Arroyo right now.

I didn't see anything in his pitching to believe he's hurt. He just hasn't gotten it done. Certainly expect him to unless he IS hurt, though.

    Re: Arroyo hurt?

I went through the stats last year, Bronson didn't completely lose it at all. He was just lost for a long period of time, with periods of sheer dominance mixed in (at least at the last time I went through that analysis.) Arroyo has to be feeling his stuff, when the location isn't there and the confidence isn't there, he'll get shelled and we all know what that is like. Tonight that obviously wasn't the case, so let's hope he can string together a month or two of really solid starts so we can get back in this thing.

Yeah. I think he's OK, and as I predicted a few weeks ago after watching him in person, I expect him to start showing it. Big step in that direction in this one.

Definitely a refreshing moment for us. I hope he is noted as the fifth starter for now behind Harang, Volquez, Cueto, and hopefully Bailey.

    Re: Arroyo hurt?

I wonder if Dusty's "I wonder if he's hurt?" thought sparked Bronson that extra bit to prove he wasn't? Seems like the type of motivational strategy Dusty may use.

He just got out of whack with the mechanics. He straightened that up.

    Re: Arroyo hurt?

Well, yeah, I do think that's at least part of it. I mentioned from the beginning that it was command and that I thought it'd return, but Dusty may have pushed him over the edge.
