WOW is right, I am shocked to hear this happening and especially just weeks into the season!
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Wow I definitely didn't see this coming. Krivsky is a good baseball mind, but not cut out to be a GM. He is good at finding diamonds in the rough (Phillips, Keppinger, Hamilton) or maybe just lucky. He tends to get fleeced on trades though. I wish he would swap roles with Jocketty here.

It could mean something like Jocketty coming in, but, even worse, it could mean that Dusty has some sort of weird psychic powers.

    Re: Krivsky Fired

Well Jocketty definitely has quite a track record so we are n good hands. I am a little disappointed though as our minor league prospects have definitely benefitted under Krivskys watch. But if you think about it Krivsky has basically told RCast that he made three mistakes recently. The signing of Mike Stanton and subsequent eating of the contract. The signing of Juan Castro and his subsequent demotion and with Ross being activated today, there was speculation by Marty B and Cowboy that it was time for Hatteberg to go with the development of Votto. Just a thought, it is never a good idea to ask your owner to eat a million plus dollars on multiple occassions in a matter of weeks.

Having heart attack!!! Will be back when get out of hospital!!!!

Seriously though, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! My dream has come true...Jocketty as Reds GM. Woah. Castellini's serious about winning and FAST.

Krivsky did some good things for sure, but he seemed a bit slow in getting those extra few players to push us over the top. A bit too methodical for his own good in Castellini's mind, I imagine. And his poor relations with some club members hasn't helped, I believe.

    Re: Krivsky Fired

Why didnt they just fire/let krivsky resign when Jocketty was coming aboard if any semblance of a slow start would be cause enough to fire Krivsky...

We were just starting to see the fruits of the labor on the farm. Not to mention the major contributors that were brought in by Krivsky.

I am not liking this so far, time will tell if we got a wanna be Steinbrenner in Cast.

Why would they let this guy go out and get Dusty, and all that crap? I think something else had to happen, April is way to early to judge a season. The Cubs won 10 games in April 07' and wound up winning the division. The Reds have a week to win a game, and match that pace.

    Re: Krivsky Fired

There are very strong points on either side of the argument. At one end, you want to say that this is huge because Jocketty is known for putting together a winner. See MANY of CRF's posts the last few yeaes. And on the other hand, Jocketty is also known to favor veterans much like Dusty Baker.

This doesn't bode well for the likes of Bailey and Bruce. I think Cueto and Volquez are safe because they are already establishing themselves at the big league level.

We have to try and imagine what Jocketty will do for his first line of business. Surely the organization does not like some things and Jocketty would be inclined to change them. I fear what will happen to our strong minor league system. But at the same time, I love the thought of seeing a winner at the top.

Several question have to be looming around Reds country:

    What will happen with Dunn?
    What will happen with Junior?
Will there be an immediate impact from Jocketty promotion?
What are the short and long term probabilities?
