    It was reported at the time that Beane offered Jocketty Hudson for the same package, but Jocketty wanted the lefty Mulder with an extra year on his contract.

    Jocketty really is a great GM, he just needs a new start. Cardinal fans can't forget the Mulder trade. He isn't the type of GM that will trade vets for prospects, but he will make a pslash by bringing in big names. He made some great trades in St. Louis like bringing in Edmonds and Rolen. Most of the prospects that he traded away didn't amount to much.... like Bud Smith. A few did.
