Only Coffey/Fogg should be on redsr's list for poor peformance and/or lack of talent. Hatteberg because Votto's taking over 1B.

And I could see someone claiming the Arroyo contract was rushed; not the Ross one. I know many don't like Ross, but I like his game-calling better than even Bako's, and his defense is the best as well. Plus, despite his on-base drought last year, I expect better this year and he definitely has some pop. I'm a bigger Ross fan than many, however, it always seems.

I like his defensive abillity and his game calling skill, I just wished we waited a little longer to see if he was/is the real deal with the bat.

AS for Hairston, that was a clinic last night. Obviously not a ton of power and some luck there, but he sprayed those hits all over the field last night.

Wow one day after writing all this Krivsky gets canned. Can't say that I am a happy Reds fan right now. Nor will I be if this is a sign that Cast is win at all costs and it costs us a farm that many rank in the top 5 in all of baseball. Built by you guessed it Krivsky and DanO.

With Cormier we were in the playoff hunt in 2005 with not a lot of really tradable pieces and when he was brought in had some era like 1.59 and a whip of 1.15 as a lefty specialist. Had to give him the extension to get him to wave the no trade clause (He had 5 yrs with the Phils) did Krivsky go too much but such is the business of baseball.

Castro got what like 2 yr deal for 2 mil? When guys coming off the scrap heap are getting more than that from FA. A bird in the hand?

Stanton is undefendable he had been very questionable leading up to that. And no reason to throw that much money and that many years at a guy that old and that much wear on the tires.

Unlike Stanton I don't feel Fogg was a "bad deal" for Krivsky. Fogg coming off an average season in one of the friendlier hitter parks was a nice contingency plan if Bailey, Volquez, and Cueto needed more time. Unfortunately for Fogg 2 of the 3 were ready and the third seems to be trying to kick the door in himself.

Arroyo I am not ready to write off yet. He tends to be a streaky pitcher at times. He could be a very useful guy in the rotation for a while even with the Big 3 knocking. Could Arroyo have waited a bit more on an extension? He's not an ace, he's a good #3 overall it is better to have too many pitchers than not enough as we have proven the last 10 years.

For what Hatteberg did for us last year he was and is a bargain. The extension was too good for us NOT to bring him back. He's been a real good guy to have, but Votto is the future and I am sure that when Gonzalez comes back Hatteberg will be given an oppertunity elsewhere to someone that needs a left handed bat to platoon at 1b or dh. And we will likely get something for him.

Wasn't Coffey a super 2 or something that meant he would have been arby eligible anyways?

For all these you have just as many finds as Kepp from KC, Phillips from Cle, etc. We can nit pick every gm for moves and find as many that go in the tank its when you find the diamonds that weigh a gm's worth.
