Castro in to play defense and botches one. Hart on first and they give him the infield hit

And with Patterson, Dunn and Griffey we are able to strengthen our bench with Freel and Hopper and allow Bruce to continue to grow getting all the AB's he wants at AAA. We even have depth in that when Alex Gonzalez comes back he will allow Keppinger to play multiple spots whenever needed. Our bullpen is looking solid so far with Burton being darn near lights out. The only position that makes me somewhat physically ill is catcher, and as long as we have solid defensive catchers that can manage the young starters, I can even stomach that.

I agree man, it looks real good right now. Real good. And as far as catcher goes, Bako has been a pleasant surprise this season at the plate even.

It was actually vice versa. He hit .235 avg, .282obp, .331slg in 260 AB's before the all star break and .313avg, .333obp, .458slg in 201 AB's after the all star break last year.

    THE BATS FINALLY STICK!

It came later in the game, but it came. Finally we got some offense going. 12 runs! I never expected that. And to top it off, Fogg had a decent game for himself. Think about it guys because I am sure Dusty and Wayne are. We did all this damage without EdE. Perhaps he is moving closer to the trade block.

Anyhow, good solid game that hopefully can make the Brewers fear us a bit. We competed bigtime last night and tonight we brought the lumber. Tomorrow will be very fun.

    MVP: Patterson

Unfortunately, even with the win, the team remains a couple games behind the Cards.

Early on it appears Jocketty built another high-quality team before he left town. We'll see if their pitching staff continues to look so skilled.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.

When Ross gets back, I'd make he and Bako the primary catchers and put Valentin on the bench as a PH if he's to remain on the roster.

Both Ross and Bako call much better games, IMO, as I've stated many times.
