We want so badly for Patterson to become the next Phillips. Same story, different name. BP was calling himself "The Franchise" in Cleveland and had to get out of that mindset. Sounds like Patterson thinks a bit highly of himself as well and may have figured it out finally.
Then again, rockin makes a strong point. And I am scared to see what happens when he slumps. His swing is unorthodoxed and his HRs just scare me right now. He may let it get to his head again and then we will be in a heap of trouble.
I forgot the Dusty-Patterson relationship from Chicago. Might have done Patterson some good to come back to a manager who players just love. Dusty took some guys with him to Chicago from San Fran so Dusty might just know what he is doing.
Basically Dusty just "brought him to town."
And I really think he's become a smarter hitter than when you last saw him on a regular basis. He might be too aggressive sometimes, but I think he's improved. I believe his offensive numbers combined with his great defense will make him an overall plus player when the season ends.
The Simpson family gathers around, as Homer places Bart's passed test on the fridge.)
Homer: We're proud of you, boy.
Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.
