It's time for a little payback! Not that it is going to be an easy task. Dan Haren is the opposing pitcher and although he is not as lethal as Brandon Webb, he is still in the top percentage of pitchers in the league. The good thing is, the Reds have faired pretty well against Haren. In his three appearances, the Reds bats have given troubled him with a 5.93 ERA.

Hopefully it's much of the same tonight. But in order for that to happen, the Reds have to have a better gameplan going up to the plate. Make him throw his breaking pitch for strikes early. If he can't get it over, just lay off it and eliminate it. They can't get to the point where they are behind in the count and going down swinging and missing at his nasty splitter.

OTHER NOTES:
It's great to see that Dusty addressed Valentin and his lack of hustle after his 330 foot single on Opening Day. He isn't in the lineup tonight despite hitting the ball hard. Also, Joey Votto is getting the start tonight. This is another good sign from Dusty. They may have the idea to showcase Hatteberg, but you still have to find a way to get Votto ABs since he is such a slow starter anyway. Sitting him only slows down his comfort.

Hey fellas/ladies, I will be either watching or listening to the game tonight. I have to put up with my laptop and it simply sucks with video. So, I will likely be listening to Marty tonight which makes it hard to see what the pitchers are throwing and stuff. Kinda sucks, but I will be back home soon.

Junior GIDP. UGH! Its that hard sink Haren has that beat Junior there. The Reds sure came out aggressive there, but Haren was throwing strikes either way. Yet, he never through a breaking pitch. Maybe they should get deeper into the count to see what it will do tonight.
