So its up to Dunn, EdE and Hatteberg and likely followed by a Votto 2-run bomb to tie things up.

So this one wasn't as fun as we all expected. But there are plenty more to come. Hopefully we can have some payback tomorrow. Another tough task though as we have to see Dan Haren. Nothing much to say, just a boring game really. I am looking forward to tomorrow.

Reds MVP: Harang (there really was nobody else)

Very true, no one really shined today. They are off tomorrow BTW, next game is Wednesday. Of course Cueto's game 3 won't be televised.

Disappointing to say the least. Neither team was particularly energetic, but I was hoping to see that from the Reds (perhaps the delay helped to cause that for both teams.)

Re: Opening Day 2008: DBacks at Reds

Yeah I typed tomorrow by accident knowing it is not until Wednesday for the next game.

Of note, I think Edwin had a strong game at the plate. The DBacks seemed to have a better plan of attack and layed off of Harang's slider quite a bit. That is where they got Harang to lose focus a bit. Then when they sat on the fastball and crushed it in the 3rd inning, Harang was torn. I really think he did an excellent job considering though.

Perhaps Harang will have to make an adjustment as scouts from other teams must have seen this and it will likely be the gameplan vs. Harang.

As far as the Reds bats go, we should have done the same thing against Webb's sinker. It is hard to lay off of, but that is why I liked EdE. He layed off the sinker very nicely and turned it in to 2 walks. Griffey had a good approach all day as well.

Overall, this game is what we should have expected. Not a lot of runs and Webb and Harang to show what they have. Similar lines between the two by the way.
