    Kenny Lofton?

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Reds are interested in Kenny Lofton.
Signing Lofton would seemingly lead to top prospect Jay Bruce beginning the season in the minors, as the Reds could go with a Lofton-Ryan Freel or Lofton-Norris Hopper platoon in center field. Even at 41 years old Lofton is a fine platoon starter, hitting .296 with a .367 on-base percentage last season.
I love how Lofton is still putting up good numbers at his age but don't see the real need for him on this squad. I think Bruce is ready to start and Freel can help out if he does struggle at first but think they need to stick with him just like the Rockies did with Tulo. I think Lofton is better served with another team like the Braves or Oakland.

Maybe if Dunn or Griffey gets moved and you slide Bruce over? I really don't see why we are stacking up with so many guys at positions that are already crowded.

Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.

He's 41 and hitting better than most. He even stole 23 bases last season.

    Yup, Griffey.

Nevermind I just searched and saw he's 38. But still if you add Bond's age 43+41(lofton) and 38(Griffey) and divide that, you get 40.6 year old avg

    Re: Kenny Lofton?

Kenny Lofton would be better than signing Corey Patterson.

Lofton maybe old, but he still has a .986 FP and a .360+ OBP with 20+ stolen bases a year.

Patterson has an even FP to Lofton, but a leadoff hitter with a .298 career OBP???
