RUMOR: Kriv on his way out (Jocketty hired!))?

FYI — the rumor going around is Krivsky will be replaced VERY soon as GM by Jocketty, and will be reassigned within the organization.

A source I spoke to just a little bit ago said the rumors are going around but he would be stunned if it’s announced.

I guess we’ll find out here soon.

Come on man, this deserved it's own thread.

Did your source say why this is being tossed around? Was RCast displeased by the Hamilton trade or Krivsky's inability to trade for an ace?

Or is it simply because Jocketty was available?

Well, the source was right for now at least.

Krivsky isn't gone as GM but Jocketty has been named as a special adviser to Castellini.

Castelinni has something on his mind. I wonder if he sees this as a seperate job from Krivsky? Maybe Krivsky will have more of a roll that he had with Minnesota. He was under Terry Ryan and brought in guys that many did not have an eye on. He has proven he is very good at this with the Phillips, Hamilton, Burton signings. Then Jocketty would be the guy to aid Krivsky in talking to other GMs with trades. Jocketty would also be the guy to bring their thoughts to Castelinni.

I think this is an excellent front office now. Having these two use their talents and allow the other to step in where they are not as talented would be great.

    I am excited!

Re: RUMOR: Kriv on his way out (Jocketty hired!))?

Jocketty mentioned a few times on the radio last night (WLW and XM 175) that he does not know if he will want to be a GM again.

I still like the thought of adding another guy who has a good track record with other GMs and likely has agents to talk to about free agent signings and GMs to talk to about trades that otherwise would not have been talked to with just Krivsky.

Why not have a super front office? Just because Jocketty is in doesn't mean Krivsky is out, if anything RCast might of brought him in to let Krivsky become a better GM and benefit from his experience. Plus when trade negotiations are happening, maybe RCast feels like Jocketty will knock enough sense into Krivsky so that another trade like 'the trade' won't happen again. Krivsky has had problems listening to people below him on the totem pole but he would maybe take the advice of somebody as respected as Jocketty typically is.

Why is there a Cubs logo on this thread?

We are secretly engaging rom the Cubs side of the lines. We know that this move makes the Cubs better in that Krivsky and Jocketty will have it out with eachother all year and it will have an effect on the team's win loss record. Much like the Cards had last season. Hence, us giving the Cubs their props.

CRF...you have to be the happiest Reds fan in the world now, right?
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

    You aren’t lyin’.

Definitely a move that can only help the team. Might even push Krivsky to stop acting so apparently timid in trade negotiations.

I am still wondering what will come of all this. Maybe a deal will get done. I still think this hiring has something to do with Krivsky's inability to make the trade for a good starting pitcher.
