Well like I said, if they dont get the early runs, Harangs great performance doesnt mean anything. But it is great to see Harang throwing pebbles today. This was the kinda performance we thought we would see out of a guy like Milton this year. 7 IP and over 5 K. The only guy thats doing that this year though is Harang. And to think that he was on the bubble of making the rotation this year.

Either MVP vote is well deserved I just thought Randas was a little more important to the victory.

And he has 8 saves. Not too bad.

Well, I don't know if we should have expected this out of Milton. His career numbers wouldn't indicate that. I DID think Milton would be a better job at keeping us in games, but that's because I was expecting his ERA to be close to 4.50. With that ERA, our offense USUALLY stays in the game(3 ER in 6 IP on average)

O'Brien's so pathetic he doesn't know talent when it hits him in the face.

Of course as I sasy that, Jones blows the game in the Bot. 10th against the Pirates, as Sanchez singled in Jack Wilson with the winning run. Pirates win 3-2 and stay 2 games ahead of the Reds.

    Harang was awesome today.

Too bad that he can't start 5 days a week.

Well I agree with you CRF. He hasnt been a big K guy. But I think its safe to say that we thought he should be eating a lot more innings than he is. I thought he would average 6 or more IP per outing. But right now hes at almost 5 and a half. Thats average and not a "inning eater" like the FO said he would be. Thats the biggest reason I am disappointed with him.

I am looking forward to Belisle going tomorrow. Hopefully he can come out strong and give us another good performance.

When your stuff is as bad as Milton's has been so far this year, the innings won't come. They'll come when he works on cutting down on the number of hits allowed. Giving up a a lot of HR like he has in the past is one thing, and he could still have 4 ER in 7 IP performances that way, but not by giving up the extra hits and having 7 ER in 3 or 4 IP performances.

Of course that was his second inning pitched today too.

He pitched well in the 9th, but couldn't get the third out of the 10th.

i was a huge todd jones fan, he was a good clubhouse guy and was one of our top setup men and had 8 wins (which was behind wilson) before the allstar break
i'm scraped and sober but there's no one listening

I liked Todd also. Who did we get for him? Machado and Joe Wilson?

Jr's Boy... I merged your thread with the game thread, just so we didn't have as much clutter taking up space. We already have enough things stickied and the like as it is.
