I will say that I am happy that we did hire someone with some experience, and while I do have my reservations, I will hold out until the season gets going before I make any opinion on the decision

Baker will do fine. He needs some good coaches for the pitchers and hitters and I think he will do well.

You know what, this is the best way for us all to look at this. I am sure he is a likeable guy and he was named manager of the year three times. He has a successful past and a scary one at the same time.

I just don't see him learning from his mistakes. I cannot prove that Prior and Wood's injuries were any fault of Baker's. And I will contend to leave that alone until we start seeing those things with Homer and the rest of our arms.

I will also leave the veteran love alone for now until we start seeing things turn in that direction. As soon as Hamilton is traded for Kenny Lofton, I will have proof of our teams impossible direction.

Dusty is a two time Manager of the Year and the players love him. He makes a good clubhouse but he's not that great in big games. This bullshit that he ruined Prior and Wood's careers is just a myth. Not taking Prior out in game 7 of the NLCS is not bullshit. He's a good guy and a good manager and will do just fine with Harang and the rest of the Reds.

He likes to change his lineup too.. Just like Yost. It is so frustrating.

Dusty Baker sucks and will do nothing for the Reds. It will be a trainwreck and awesome to watch.

eh, lineup position is overrated. i think lou had 88 different lineups in the first 90 games (not counting pitcher of course)

Yeah, Yost did too. I am just not a fan of it. Players the reserves in the final games of series or something to get them their AB's.

ANd juggling the lineups sure helped the Brewers and Cubs go far in the season(playoffs for your Cubs). Dont you find it interesting that the four teams left in the playoffs pretty much stick to an everyday lineup. And their players don't play multiple positions either. The Angels and Yankees did the same as the remaining four teams.

If Baker is a failure (ie no improvement or worse) through the first two, he won't make it to year three, guaranteed.

That is all fans can do. Root for what their team gives them. I applaud anyone who sticks with their team through thick and thin.

I am sure you told yourself Bowden would of been long gone by now. But in tough situations like this, you build a house of lies and crawl inside, thereby escaping the world of reality.

The common Reds fan and Cincinnati media will eat up Baker; his vet love, old school approach, and turning Bailey from a man-child to a man to a man with an arm diced from here to Sunday.... it's going to be a bumpy ride.
