    Dunn rumors pouring in

Plenty of Dunn rumors floating around.

As the trade deadline clock ticks louder, Angels general manager Bill Stoneman insists he is still working on adding a player of significance. So just how confident is he that a deal can get done by Tuesday now that the asking price on the few available sluggers has been deemed too high? "I don't know if I'd use the word `confident', but I don't know if I wouldn't," Stoneman said moments before Saturday's game. "You don't know. You just don't know." That answer doesn't quite inspire anyone to buy punch and cookies for a new guy's welcome party. A number of sluggers have appeared on the Angels' radar, including Adam Dunn, Mark Teixeira, Jermaine Dye and Mike Piazza. But the Angels refuse to part with their top prospects to land a proven hitter, and deals continue to fall apart.
Apparently Tim Kurkjian noted the Nationals were in the hunt for Dunn again and may be offering Cordero and Rauch.

We really do not need Cordero, especially at that price. He would bomb big time in GABP.

We really don't need another two arms from the Nats for a big bat. I truly hope Krivsky is not considering this.

Bowden loves leaking his moves to ESPN, I wouldn't think Krivsky would even want to deal with him with the grievance case going on so this just might be Bowden's lips moving once again.

I am getting sick thinking about that rumor for more than a few seconds.

Same here, but we all know Krivsky is trying to save his job. That is the only reason why I would see Dunn getting traded for a smaller package. Just to get something done before the deadline and try and show he is "working hard."

Sometimes the best trades are the ones that were never made, let's hope he knows that.

Ouch, I just noticed that the Reds are traveling to Washington. Krivsky and Bowden may be in person to talk with one another over a possible deal.

You also have to wonder if all the Teixeira callers will move to Dunn now Tex is no longer in Texas. Dunn is the next big lefty bat I would think. The price for Dunn just sky-rocketed. Krivsky may be getting tempted, but hopefully he finds something worth being tempted for.

You know...Rauch/Cordero would not be my ideal return for Dunn but, it'll be a helluva lot nicer of a return than what we got in our first foray into Washington.
I bet one legend that keeps recurring throughout history, in every culture, is the story of Popeye.

I seriously wish the A's would make a move for Dunn if there was a way to get some money in return as well....and if we could sign him for a reasonable price. He would be a big bat that would help us a lot I think. But I doubt we would with league minimum Dunn, Jr...AKA Cust. Even if we move 1B Johnson, Swisher can play 1B and they'd probably call Barton up, too...I dunno...make a move Billy!

I really like Casilla and Swisher is an OSU alumni. Dunn brings the power but Swisher is young and is a great hitter and well i think that Stubbs was a huge bust even with a nice July in the minors. Casilla would be a nice addition to our bullpen
