I'll take a big old side of pass with that trade rumor.

Damn. Is this Schuerholtz's last year or something?
I wanted to pass when it was Salty for Arroyo and I still do.
Trade Hitting for pitching, Trade Pitching for more pitching, and anything else for pitching.

No way would I do this. It almost looks like very little will be done this year. Glad to get rid of Lohse though

When and how the Reds add to their five World Championships, nine pennants and nine division titles seems less important than the franchises' lineage, which traces a line back to the dawn of the professional game and their role as keeper of the historic flame they lit by birthing the Red Stockings in 1869.

I really don't think there is plenty to go after. That is just the reason why the trades are so few and far between this year. The free agent market looks pretty weak from a pitching standpoint.
According to Amy Nelson of ESPN Magazine she spoke to Arroyo who is happy in Cincinnati, well adjusted and likes the program that he is on. He has talked to Krivsky who has assured him that he won't be traded.
You wouldn't think Krivsky would burn him like that like what happened in Boston.

Thoughts? The Braves are making a push to get one of the better starting pitchers available. They're willing to give up pitching prospect Jo-Jo Reyes to get Bronson Arroyo. My guess is that Reyes alone would not be enough; the Braves might have to dip into the farm system and pull out another prospect.
UPDATE: John Fay says the Braves are also offering Yunel Escobar. This could get done. And finally allow Kelly Johnson to play every day again.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
Ah, give me something clever to say here.
I like Arroyo being here and am not sold on him being bad. He has picked it up lately. Hestill has amazing movement on his slider and is very deceptive. You have to keep him.
But for Escobar and Reyes, that might make you rethink a little.
Mission's post makes me believe there is no way anything happens though. If Amy Nelson isn't talking out of her ass, Arroyo will stay in Cincy. Which is fine with me.
