"Single A ERA" and S3F Cash?

Can someone explain to me what these things are? I'm assuming they're some sort of reputation gauge.

Yeah, the ERA measures your reputation against the number of posts you've made in essence and comes up with a "Baseball Reputation ERA" for you. Of course it is not tracked and means nothing in terms of your posting status or anything; it's just meant as a cool device.

And the S3F cash has to do with a forum "casino." Check in on the casino forum for more information on that.

i'm sure redsr or mish can explain this better than i can, but the ERA is based on your post count and your rep. the more you post, and the less rep you have, the higher the ERA. the more you post and the more you get, the lower the era and you move through the system.

the S3F cash is for the vBookie tournament going on located up on the main page under S3F Casino (or vegas, something to that sort). i think if you contact Fishercat about it he can get you hooked up.

Re: "Single A ERA" and S3F Cash?

I personally find post count to be a very poor evaluation of a member, as there can be members with only a few posts a week but they are far and away the best the forum has during the week. As it has been mentioned, the ERA is a calculation involving post count, ERA, and a few other variables that are very minor to it. It largely depends on others in the forum recognizing posts that deserve reputation, which leads to this individual system's flaw. But, the goal of it is to encourage more quality posts. Its not something that is used on any administrative level, but on the whole I think it's a better indicator of potential quality to use next to a person's post (as often on many forums, people might tie big post counts to the best poster, but that isn't always true.)

Oh and new poster's ERA can fluctuate a lot more than older posters with more reputation and such. You also work your way through the system (A, AA, AAA, MLB). Its a new system we designed this year and one that we hope to perfect a bit more in the future.

Would you happen to be a RedsZone castoff? Were you "Encarnacioned?"

Indeed he was, he was formerly just redram I believe.

When and how the Reds add to their five World Championships, nine pennants and nine division titles seems less important than the franchises' lineage, which traces a line back to the dawn of the professional game and their role as keeper of the historic flame they lit by birthing the Red Stockings in 1869.

Yes as a matter of fact I am. I mainly read post there, posted some, tried to stay positive in this woefull year we are having. I just felt the latest changes were unfair so I decided to leave. This seems like a great place and it is NICE to be able to post in the game thread when I have the chance to. Thx for what looks to be a very nice forum for Reds Baseball.

Every post I make, my ERA goes up!

I feel like Danny Graves ... but I'll figure it out.

I actually made the cut, somehow, at RZ. I mean ORG . I always posted more on RL anyway. I'm not the most prolific poster, and I tend to be kind of the quiet and nice type (not how I am in real life at all!), but I did like how lively it was on RedsLive. I loved to read it and participate as how I saw fit.

I once saw a Cirque du Soleil performance, and I was hooked. RedsLive was once like that, and hopefully, this spot will turn into the same.

We need more Reds fans here. I plan to still participate at the other place, but it would be great to have Reds44, OBM, WillieMoRocks and posters like that on this site.

You just have to keep your posts down and out of the zone. Don't hang 'em either. A little velocity on those threads and replies would be nice too.

They are all here already. OBM= Dunn#44.

Thanks for all the compliments you guys have to this site. If we could do anything else to better welcome you or if any of you have ideas to make this forum any better, please bring them up.
