Now that Freel got paid, why kill yourself and play everyday? If I were him, and maybe this is what he's doing, make it easier on myself. I'd sit the bench for 3 and 4 mil respectively rather than go out there and kill myself.

To win and play everyday. You obviously never played ball if that's your view.

    I vaguely recall that.
But clearly you can see my skillz.

    Of course.

Thus the Reds dilemma, if healthy Griffey is solid and can contribute, but his contract is a major liability as is his injury risk. To trade him for nothing but cash relief would send a poor sign to the fans. But to pay a good chunk of change for in the end modest prospects and risk Griffey succeeding elsewhere would be something they likely would be lampooned for.

With the occasional offday to Griffey, moving Dunn to first on occasion (maybe for the Sunday Special lineup) and playing him for off-days to Encarnacion or Phillips, Freel could get sufficient playing-time. For depth purposes alone, it makes sense to keep him to strengthen the bench and to have a sure bet backup plan for if injury strikes any of the outfielders or at 2nd or 3rd.

I agree with everything mentioned for Freel being the super sub again. But again, lets hope Narron puts that into effect.

What do you guys think about Hamilton leading off when Freel isn't playing?

honestly I don't like it, but its not like Phillips is the best leadoff guy either, but i probably would rather have Phillips leading off rather than Hamilton

Slyder probably could sell Griffey if you gave him a chance.
