    Hamilton!

He gets his first major league start, first major league hit, and first major league HR all just right now.

Followed by a little silent treatment in the dugout for his first major league hazing (well possibly).

Then Phillips doesn't want to be out done and crushes one as well.

Merged our two threads. We posted them at the same time. But yes, that was special. Gave me chills.

I was thinking earlier today how the Reds really have had bad luck in the HR department this year. Then we get 3 in the first two innings tonight. Just catching up to where they should be I guess.

    Silly Josh Hamilton.

once you hit a homerun, you have to celebrate, and you've never celebrated with anything besides cocaine, heroin, and LSD. Now you're going to dose again and your career will end.

    Tsk tsk tsk.

    You ass.

Always finding ways to look at the glass half empty. I take it we can blame you if this ever happens?

I'm a Nationals fan who was an Expos fan, I maintain that I am allowed to be overly pessimistic about feel-good stories.

It's been a long time coming for Josh, congrats to him on getting the first one out of the way.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

What are the chances that he starts playing a majority of the games with continued success?

I think that all depends on how much playing time he gets. The dude has only had like 5 ABs this year and has been pretty impressive for being so raw. He has a very patient bat with a good eye and major power. He hit extremely well this spring and has all the signs of being a legitimate big league star.

The lone bright spot in tonight's disaster of a game played by a disaster of a franchise.

Maybe the Reds and Bengals should just leave town? Neither one ever gets it done when it matters.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.

The lack of fundamentals when they were needed was appalling tonight. So many chances went wasted. Imagine if we were able to deliver just a bit more when it was needed, we could be sporting one of the better records in baseball.

On a sidenote, I am in love with Hamilton's plate discipline.
