    Reds Cubs at Reds 4/4/2007

    It's game two!

    AT

The Reds have to face a pitcher that had a career year last season. Ted Lilly is now with the Cubs after he won 15 games last season. This guy improved his cross the body delivery and is much straighter to the plate. The knock on him is that he will give up the long ball a bit as he leaves pitches up in the zone. Lets hope the Reds can exploit that.

He drops down a bit more toward a sidearm angle when he is throwing his slider and he only throws changeups to right handed batters early in the count.

Arroyo gets to battle him and we all know what he can do. Hopefully he can build on last season and continue to deceive batters.

    Reds batters vs. Lilly:
    1. Freel: 0 ABs
    2. Phillips: (.000 AVG) 0 for 2 with 1 K
    3. Dunn: 0 ABs
    4. Encarnacion: 0 ABs
    5. Griffey: 0 ABs
    6. Conine: (.350 AVG) 7 for 20 with 2 HRs, 9 RBIs, 2 BB and 5 K
    7. Gonzalez: (.455 AVG) 5 for 11 with a Double, 1 HR, 4 RBIs, 1 BB and 3 K
    8. Ross: 0 ABs
    9. Arroyo: 0 ABs

    Cubs batters vs. Arroyo:
    1. Soriano: (.050 AVG) 1 for 20 with a Double, 2 RBIs and 8 K
    2. Jones: (.261 AVG) 6 for 23 with 2 Doubles, 1 BB and 2 K
    3. Lee: (.286 AVG) 4 for 14 with 1 HR, 3 RBIs, 1 BB and 4 K
    4. Ramirez: (.333 AVG) 6 for 18 with 1 Double, 1 HR, 4 RBIs, 2 BB and 2 K
    5. Floyd: (.500 AVG) 3 for 6 with 1 Double, 1 HR, 2 RBIs and 1 BB
    6. Barrett: (.538 AVG) 7 for 13 with 2 Doubles, 4 RBIs and 1 K
    7. Theriot: (.000 AVG) 0 for 4 with 1 K
    8. Izturis: (.000 AVG) 0 for 3
    9. Lilly: 0 ABs
    Lets go Reds!

Soriano sure looks happy to face Arroyo...those are horrific numbers.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

i really don't agree with conine hitting hehind griffey. i also don't really agree with the whole LRLRLRLRLR thing narron is doing with the lineup.

I actually don't HATE this lineup.

I might make a couple small adjustments, but I can live with it.

I like the lineup as well. Conine as done well against Lilly.

I look for Ross to have a much better game against Lilly since he can hit lefties far better than righties. I predict Griffey and Dunn to struggle a bit and a need for Phillips and EdE to have a big game here.

We really need Arroyo to shut them down though, but Lee and Ramirez have had some success. As long as nobody gets on in front of them, we should be ok.

Listening on the radio and Narron said that Milton will try to pitch on Sunday after a simulation today- that he pitched "well". If he is not ready then Victor Santos will be given the shot to pitch. just FYI

I'd prefer Saarloos over either of them, but Santos over Milton.

    Just Say No to Milton!

Thom and Brantley on mlb.tv! Hell yeah!

Also, I would prefer Saarloos also, hence why I did not favor Narron's decision to use him when he didn't need to do so.
