Lou showing fire in the dugout.

    Ahh, I miss those days.

But we've got Jerry, so all is good!

Now Lou storms out to the mound to have it out with Dempster. At least one real manager is involved in this game.

Griffey flies out to LF. 2 outs.

    I agree with Brantley.

Griffey should have known to take that pitch.

Conine flies out to LF on the first pitch.

The guy has been ridiculously impatient.

    He better change his ways.

    Cubs win 4-1.

    Why did he hit there?

    The Pirates go ahead again.

They might be (3-0) very soon.

And their payroll is extremely small.

What a story them winning a lot of games would be.

If we're not careful, we could be 2.5 out of 1st place already by the end of tomorrow.

Just copy that line because it will probably be the next thing you want to say and you can just hit paste and it will appear easily.

His managing changed the whole feeling of that inning. A 2-1 game right now would have changed the hitting approach, etc. of the team for the last couple of innings.

As I said before Arroyo allowed those two runners to reach; he shouldn't have been out there at that point in such a tight game. Not on a chilly night and pitching in his first game.

So the Reds look at a whole lot of bad luck tonight. Many should be HRs. I count 5 including Dunn's shot off the wall. Then the umpires just making horrible check swing calls on both ends. I guess that is all it takes to lose a ballgame.

Arroyo looked nasty no matter what his line looks like. Many Ks as his slider was ridiculous to say the least. But Lilly equaled him and just owned the Reds hitters for some reason. Nothing really spectacular of note to speak of other than that.

I did see another thing on Ross though. His bat has really slowed down. Even though he missed what should have been a HR in his last AB, he was getting killed by the inside fastball all night by a guy who doesn't really blow guys away with heat. So now we know he cannot hit righties, sliders, or inside fastballs. Yuck.

I have to call it a bad offensive game and a good pitching matchup.

    MVP: Arroyo

For some reason my "Major League ERA" shot up about .30 tonight. I guess I posted too much on this thread.
