Edwin Encarnacion crowned 2006 reds survivor.

By one vote over Aaron Harang.

Congratulations to Edwin. I think he has been our most consistent player this year.

How sad is it that our survivor was on the bench half the time until Narron finally had no choice but to start him all of the time?

The shocking bit was Hatteberg lasting so long after the flack at the beginning of the season.

Given his 2005 stats, it was hard not to. He was more a victim of circumstance though as many (myself included) liked the move as a pure pinch-hitter/spot starter. He's proved many wrong though and has been a complete shocker with his play.

Nice to see Edwin get the win, I expect he will be picking up that win several times over the course of the next few seasons if he continues to develop like he seems to be.

I didn't give Hatteberg much flack. I didn't think he'd be as good as he's been(although he has slumped quite a bit lately), but I was fairly high on the signing at the time.

I already did a few minutes ago. I've repped him a couple times now for doing this.

    Thanks for the work, KOZ.

Dave Ross was also another shocker, if only that LA and Pittsburgh never saw 18 homeruns and a credible average in part time duty emerge. But I don't think anyone would have guessed he'd out last that many players in the beginning.

How do you guys think Kearns and Lopez would have faired if they were never dealt?

They probably would have been gone somewhere a little past the middle of the vote-off, depending on how they were playing at the time.

As for Ross, he did have 19 HR in a little over 400 career AB before this year, so him hitting HR really isn't that surprising to me, especially at GABP. I think he could have some pretty decent numbers for the next few years if we keep him around. He might not hit like he has this year, but I think he could be fairly good. A halfway decent OBP and a good SLG percentage I can definitely see from him.
