Reds Reds vs Cards 15 AUG 06! (to gain ground)

    Ryan Freel RF Season .293 7 24
    Scott Hatteberg 1B Season .328 11 38
Ken Griffey Jr. CF Season .242 23 64
    Edwin Encarnacion 3B Season .302 11 55
    Adam Dunn LF Season .251 35 81
    Brandon Phillips 2B Season .291 11 57
    Royce Clayton SS Season .262 2 35
    Jason LaRue C Season .181 5 17
    Aaron Harang P Season .160 0 2
Clayton and LaRue are starting! hmmm... ummm why?

LaRue has a whopping .000 BA in his last ten games that makes him 0-19. He does have three walks in that tenure, bu that isn't nowhere near what we are looking for. Ross may be slumping, but not that bad. Seems like LaRue is catching Harang a lot more lately.

And we already know the horrible element Clayton brings to both sides of the game. Dunn and Phillips better be looking for the long ball or to succeed in an RBI situation tonight because they are going to have 3 guys that can't be counted on to move them over and get them in batting right after them.

Here is to a BIG game despite Narron's standard mistakes.

Nothing like playing one of our most important series and putting out a subpar lineup. But it's not like the Cards stomped us in a game 1 before, so who cares about trying to make an impact with the bats.

    Narron is brilliant.

The Aurilia at SS and Ross C is the lineup that should be out there(if they aren't going to put Phillips at SS now), but of course Narron could only stand success for one game.

Here are the lineups for both teams:

    Ryan Freel RF Season .293 7 24
    Scott Hatteberg 1B Season .328 11 38
Ken Griffey Jr. CF Season .242 23 64
    Edwin Encarnacion 3B Season .302 11 55
    Adam Dunn LF Season .251 35 81
    Brandon Phillips 2B Season .291 11 57
    Royce Clayton SS Season .262 2 35
    Jason LaRue C Season .181 5 17
    Aaron Harang P Season .160 0 2

    David Eckstein SS Season .291 1 21
    Chris Duncan LF Season .306 10 23
    Albert Pujols 1B Season .329 35 93
    Jim Edmonds CF Season .262 18 65
    Scott Rolen 3B Season .318 16 73
    Juan Encarnacion RF Season .281 16 63
    Ronnie Belliard 2B Season .205 0 3
    Yadier Molina C Season .220 4 41
    Chris Carpenter P Season .091 0 2

Homer: We're proud of you, boy.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.

    Griffey flies out to CF.

    Reds 0, Cards coming up.

Only 10 pitches for Carpenter there.

Griffey did take the first two pitches there and they were both strikes. I am sure he was trying to make sure that Carpenter would throw a few more pitches rather than end the inning with only 6 pitches.

Anyhow, its not the way you want to start a game with the way the bottom of the order looks.

Lets go now Harang! And lets go defense!

    Pujols grounds out to 3B.

Low throw by EdE but Hatteberg digs it out.

    0-0 game after 1.
