EdE lines hard to 1B but still have 0 hits or BB as Pujols makes the catch. 1 out. This game could certainly be WAY over.

    Edmonds apparently left with "dizziness."

Eckstein singles to CF with some big basheres coming up. This could get ugly quickly.

Duncan hits a HR to RF. 4-0 Cards.

Game over. I'm done. This team is still likely to not make the playoffs. A tie for the WC could well be the case along with a 2.5 game deficit in the division.

    Pujols Doubles, btw.

.....And you still don't see why people are annoyed by you? It's the first game of the series.

I wouldn't give up on my team unless we were down by 6-10 runs. It's only the 6th inning. Still a long way to go.

    And yet I was right.

    Let's call it "effectively negative."

What a dominating performance by Jocketty's crew. Of course I am not surprised by a clutch performance by that group as they breed a culture of winning. Carpenter was stellar in a big situation and their lineup got some big hits. Our lineup was terrible. Harang had another poorly pitched outing against the Cards in what appears to be an ever-growing line of non-clutch performances by him. He and Arroyo have both been non-clutch lately. Hopefully Arroyo picks it up tomorrow night, but I will yet again say what I said MANY times prior to the trade deadline: we need more starting pitching!

What a sham of an effort tonight.
