Reds Reds vs. Cards May 2, 2005

Milton is our big signing. Milton is supposed to be our ace. We have all been less than impressed with him in April. Its a new month and hopefully a new season for the Reds. I am not expecting a complete turnaround, but I want to win this series. I don't expect it because all showings have been Cards=great and Reds=almost average and horrible of late.

    Lets get this season started!

Today we face Chris Carpenter 4-1 4.01 ERA. But we are at home and have at least played well here.

    vs. Carpenter

Randa has done well as has Freel!

    Lets get a win fellas.

A since of urgency is on the line today. Come on Casey and Milton. Get it done. Be our big guys today. Also, we have to hit with RISP badly. Throw strikes Milton and hit the ball Reds!

    Lineups:

    Cards:
    Eckstein SS
    Taguchi RF
    Pujols 1B
    Sanders LF
    Edmonds CF
    Grudzielanek 2B
    Mabry 3B
    Molina C
    Carpenter P

    Reds:
    Jimenez 2B
    Griffey CF
    Casey 1B
    Pena RF
    Dunn LF
    Randa 3B
    Aurilia SS
    LaRue C
    Milton P

It never ends... no Freel... Casey 3rd, Aurilia starting and hitting ahead of LaRue. Ugh.
The Simpson family gathers around, as Homer places Bart's passed test on the fridge.)

Homer: We're proud of you, boy.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.

I figured Pena would be in there, which is a good move. Aurilia will never stop starting though. I wish Freel was in there again though. He just has such a knack at getting the table set for this offense. Stealing second and then third by the time Casey comes up is perfect. Because hits that ball on the ground to the second baseman more than he does anything else. That scores runs.

DJ, on the other hand, just is horrible left handed. And that is where he will be tonight.

Well I just saw LaRue, Casey, and Dunn on Real Reds who all mentioned the fact that they had a horrible road trip. LaRue said they have their minds ready to get out there and get it done.

Milton has got to be telling himself that this game is not over yet. Eck got a hit, and Milton threw far too many pitches to him. Bring it back now Milton!

Not a horrible inning. Milton's 2 seamer looks good and he is concentrating on keeping the ball down. He is not wild today either as we have seen every pitcher in Milwaukee. So it is not contageous after all. Lets go offense get an early lead!
