    reds 2006 highlight reel...imput needed

i'm going to do a video package for the reds' 2006 season.

i'm looking for songs and clips.

once i get my new computer (which is soon) i'm going to start doing this.

heres what i have for songs so far...i'll put them on the net when i get time...right now i'll put up lyrics.

    SONGS:
    • rise against - behind closed doors [lyrics]
    • red hot chili peppers - Dani California[lyrics]
    • samiam - she found you [lyrics]
    • ryan parker - this one belongs to the reds [listen][lyrics]

now for the clips...heres how i'm thinking of doing this...maybe you guys can shed some light on how you'd like to see it.

choice a-i do a 6-10 minute video, with two segments. first half and second half. and i package all the videos into one and have the playlist going.

choice b-i do an individual package, like a segment of adam dunn, a segment of harang, ross, etc. everyone who has a highlight that i can find i'll put up. this could be long in making, but i think it would provide better footage and more playlists. if i did this i'm thinking this could come out to 15-20 minutes long.

any imput is welcomed. this is still in brainstorming mode. if i don't get enough responses saying they'll want to watch then i'll just scrap the idea all together.

That sounds wicked. I've always wanted to do something like that, I just lack technical skills with video editing and or assembling. A team package would be much better in my opinion, maybe one that goes in order of date they happened (to the best of your knowledge of course.) And I might have some song suggestions if there is anything I really think could fit and you should check out.

    Cool idea.

i'm welcome to any ideas. start posting songs you think would go along with "the ultimate highlight" persay on ESPN...i'm not looking for like death metal or like 50's beebop rock, but some good sounding rock. rap is cool too, as long as the beat isn't annoying or anything.

like i said...i'm welcome to any ideas. i don't want to be like "this is my project i'm going to make it how i want it..." i want the whole forum to get into this...this is for everyone, not just my enjoyment.

    Great idea!

I like Choice B though. You could include clips of the Griffey just off the DL HR, the Dunn GS(obviously), etc.

As for songs, I will try to think of more, but one that comes right to mind is my favorite song from one of my favorite bands: "Machinehead" by Bush. Up until a couple years ago it used to be the lead-in for Extra Innings on WLW and it is a very dramatic song that realy gets the juices flowing. It is also played at Bengals games I've been to and other NFL games.

For those who haven't heard the song, just search "Machinhead-Bush-audio"(or video) or something like that.

    Here it is:

also...the reds have their media thing "top plays" page

    http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/NASAp...e.jsp?c_id=cin

its got every top play from every game...thats what i'll be using. all i need is help narrowing down the defining top plays, what made you say "OMG!"

if we do end up going with the team package then we'll have to narrow down a LOT of clips, and somehow fit in the pitchers in there (harang, arroyo, claussen gems)...in some ways the team package is better (file size, run time, etc) but in other ways the individ package has its pluses (gives you a chance to see other players such as deno, wise, etc...plus it would give the pitchers their chance to shine.)

    i dunno, its tough lol.

Dude, even though it may be a bit played out, Thunderstruck by AC/DC is an amazing song for baseball highlights.

The Boys are back in town (thin lizzy) is similar to that as well.

I think this sounds amazing dude! I have seen a few others and always go back to play them whne I get hyped just before gametime.

One from a S3F member with our flavor would be radical!

I like the Creed idea from Slyder and the Thunderstruck idea mentioned by Dry. I was thinking about maybe throwing in some of Marty's sound bites in there. That would be insane.

what i have planned right now is i'm going to do an individ. player reel. i think it would provide more footage, i can piece it together nicely, and i can get a good soundtrack going.

i'm going to make it to where you can hear the announcers audio too (unfortunatly its grande)...if i can find a way to rip audio from the internet then i'll sync up some marty and joe/steve clips up there too.

i will include kearns and felo in there...along with any callups, new players, etc.
