Game Thread: Game 1 post "blockbuster"

    Cincinnati
    C. Denorfia RF
    B. Phillips 2B
    K. Griffey Jr. CF
    R. Aurilia 1B
    A. Dunn LF
    E. Encarnacion 3B
    J. LaRue C
    J. Castro SS
    E. Milton P

    Colorado
    J. Carroll 2B
    C. Barmes SS
    T. Helton 1B
    M. Holliday LF
    G. Atkins 3B
    B. Hawpe RF
    Y. Torrealba C
    C. Freeman CF
    J. Francis P

Could be worse but I didn't expect Denorfia to be leading off honestly. Still why in the blue **** is Aurilia batting cleanup?

Dunn and Freel must have taken a dump in Narron's Wheaties this morning.

    Top 1st: Colorado
    - J. Carroll walked
    - C. Barmes struck out swinging
    - T. Helton grounded into double play first to shortstop to second, J. Carroll out at second

    0 runs, 0 hits, 0 errors
    Colorado 0, Cincinnati 0

Nice job of Milton getting a Groundball when he needed and nice unorthodox 3-6-4 Double Play to end the inning.

    Bottom 1st: Cincinnati
    - C. Denorfia grounded out to shortstop
    - B. Phillips struck out swinging
    - K. Griffey Jr. walked
    - R. Aurilia doubled to deep right, K. Griffey Jr. to third
    - A. Dunn singled to left center, R. Aurilia and K. Griffey Jr. scored (WtF Dunn gets a hit with RISP, THAT ISNT A HOMER?!?!?!)
    - A. Dunn stole second (Now I know Ive fallen into an alternate dimension)
    - E. Encarnacion singled to left center, A. Dunn scored (ut oh he got an RBI... He'll be benched for Castro for sure now)

    - J. LaRue singled to center, E. Encarnacion to second
    - J. Castro grounded out to second

    3 runs, 4 hits, 0 errors
    Colorado 0, Cincinnati 3

Great inning guys, they showed good patience that inning.

Radio says Locker Room did NOT Riot most were happy about the deal and understand its something that HAD to be done. Dunn of course was upset, but thats to be expected. Most of them were glad for it.

Lopez and Kearns gave the "it's a business decision" in the press conference.

Wow 3 ground outs for Milton nicely done. Radio talked still a lot of guys on vacation, unsure when the recently acquired players would join the team. No questions about who would get "sent down" to make room.

Come on the players seem happy with this trade, lets not give up on them.

    Top 3rd: Colorado
    - Y. Torrealba singled to right center
    - C. Freeman grounded out to pitcher, Y. Torrealba to second
    - J. Francis struck out swinging
    - J. Carroll singled to left, Y. Torrealba scored (has it been raining in Cincy today because from the way it sounded on the radio is that Dunn slipped).
    - C. Barmes grounded into fielder's choice, J. Carroll out at second

    Bottom of the Fourth:

Larue continues to be a gluton for punishment, he gets hit in the leg by the pitch.

    Castro with a double.

Milton with a hard single to add to his case for player of the game.

    Denorfia grounds back to pitcher.

1st and 3rd 1 out. Now would be a great time for a gap shot.

I'd start watching Milton closely. He's starting to give up Fly Balls.

Tough luck for LaRue having that hit off of Francis' glove. We need another quick inning, I expect this to be Milton's last inning pitched regardless as he bats second next half inning.

Helton's abused a lot of pitchers over the years so Im not angry about the HR.

David Weathers coming in to pitch. Freel is SO underutilized when he's coming off the bench its not even funny.

Nice Job by Weathers. Maybe pitching to save his spot in the pen with the trade?
