I have no idea how you can trade a 26 year-old SS who won the Silver Slugger last year, a 26 year-old OF putting up around an .850 OPS, and a potential laden RP for that package. I'm sorry.
Off hand, I am PISSED!
So here is our team I guess:
Phillips will be playing SS with Clayton
Bergolla may get a few starts at 2B, but Aurilia probably gets it now.
Denorfia comes in to play RF.
And we just picked up a few relievers that could help.
But we gave up FAR too much for this. Unless these guys have tremendous potential that I have not heard of. Krivsky got owned.
then again, he did trade Wily Mo Pena for Brandon Arroyo...
We got raped! I hope Bowden had us bend over first for this one.
My God, I looked at this deal and thought there was no way in hell this went down... So to make sure I checked the Reds website and sure enough, Krivsky has flown off the handle. I feel for you Reds fans, they should have never packaged Kearns AND Lopez in a deal unless you all were getting something spectacular... Very dissappointing move and hate to say it but this looks like one of those that will come to haunt the Reds, I don't see this turning out like the Bronson Arroyo deal.
Of course, the difference there was that Bronson Arroyo had a couple years of major league experience where he was a quality pitcher. The only player that applies here with those credentials is Gary Majewski, and he (from a scouting report) gets into trouble when his pitch count hits the high teens.
That was a great trade for the Reds, but this? My goodness. You simply cannot trade two above-average, young, reasonably priced major leaguers for a package like that. It's inexplicable. If you guys still had a Pena waiting in the OF for PT, I'd understand trading Kearns for a package like that. But all three of them?
I have to go to the gym so this is horrible timing for me. But I will be back. I want to hear your guys' thoughts on this and try and listen to what Krivsky has to say.
As Lance just said; "He's got some explaining to do."
You guys got hosed.
I never thought that Bowden could screw us again, but low and behold, he does it to us AGAIN!!!
Wow.
We dealt from a position of depth since I really do think Denorfia will be good, but I am not pleased to see Felipe gone.
In all fairness, Phillips will now be at SS and Freel will probably get to play more often!
That I do like.
If nothing else, we do have the depth to fill these positions. Freel DESERVES to play every single game!
I was just hoping for a better return than that, although I do think a couple of these players could help.
Freel has proven time and again that he CANNOT play every day, even though he MIGHT deserve to.
I am seriously considering giving up the Reds. I really have nothing to say about this trade that would offer any insight nor would be appropriate for a forum that tries to stay appropriate for all ages.
Hahaha. And I thought the Reds had turned the corner and were going to improve the team. Royce Clayton, bah lol. Laughingstalks of the league. Laughers.

That is one thing I will like about this trade.
