    A couple Reds news tidbits

With the Reds winning last night and the Cards losing, the lead in the Central is only 3 games. Not quite as dire of a situation as people were making it out to be.

The Reds are on pace to have 3 representatives in the All-Star game. More than likely, both Ken Griffey, Jr. and Adam Dunn will be included as reserves. The other one... Bronson Arroyo. Arroyo has had a great season to date, so it would be very hard for Phil Garner to keep him off the NL All-Star pitching staff.

Umm, Arroyo is probably the only one going.

And with the way Narron's doing the rotation now, Arroyo might not even get to pitch in it.

Arroyo should be the only lock for the Reds. I told you guys he was good.

On position, I suppose Freel or Phillips could be argued. Specifically Phillips.

If I were Garner, I would take Arroyo (SP) and Phillips (2B) (2B with Uggla and Utley). If they did two CFs, then maybe after Beltran...maybe. But with all OFs in a pool, I'd just take Phillips and Arroyo

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.

Griffey will atleast be a reserve. Bronson has to go for sure.
Outside of that, I don't see anyone going...Dunn maybe on reputation.

Is it necessary to point out how low Griffey's OPS is as opposed to every other NL OF? Not to mention his lack of AB's.

Everyone loves Griffey, unless you're a nazi.

Griffey is the leading Reds vote-getter.

He is 4th in the voting though. Unless he is in the top 3 he isn't going to the ASG.

Since you basically did just point it out, not really. I'm just saying, I'm guessing he goes. He's fourth is votes now, so we'll see.

I would love to see Griffey's swing back in the HR derby.

Frankly, Griffey doesn't deserve to go right now. Arroyo does and as mentioned, perhaps Freel, Phillips and maybe Coffey.

Homer: We're proud of you, boy.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.
